“The role and importance of navigational information in the operational mapping of the territory of the country. Prospects for the development of applied research”

The implementation of several articles of the Federal law from 30.12.2015, No. 431-FL "On geodesy, cartography and spatial data and spatial data...", which entered into force on January 1, 2017, provides for a comprehensive use of government information resources: data remote sensing, satellite navigation, industry thematic of information for the implementation of geodetic and cartographic activities. The report identifies the significance and importance of satellite navigation data for operational updating of topographic and special maps, in a continuous state topographic monitoring, and maintaining spatial databases and a single electronic cartographic base. The results of scientific and applied research and production work on the use of GLONASS data to solve tasks of topographic and special mapping. Shown promising areas for further research on the optimization of means and methods for processing navigation data in integration with other spatial data for use in geodesy and cartography, related industry of the economy.
